Our Fourth Annual Moab River Trip!!!
June 09, 2012 – Saturday
In 2012 we are offering 2 different launches. You will have the choice of Fisher Towers (the location of our first 2 trips) OR Westwater. Both are all day guided trips. June is one of the best times of the year to raft the Colorado River. We will be in 8-12 person rafts.
Fisher Towers covers about 14 miles of the Colorado River. The rapids are the smaller class 1 and 2. The guides will pick you up and bring you back to Canyonlands Campground in tour busses.
Westwater covers about 18 miles of the Colorado River. This trip is classed at 3 and 4 rapids. These rapids are going to be much bigger than the Fisher Towers trip. This launch is also limited to 25 ladies and will require participants to carpool/drive themselves to the Cisco Junction (about 30 minute drive from the campground).
We have chosen the Canyonlands Campground for this event because of its location right in the center of town, within walking distance of all the fun shops. They have showers and bathrooms on site. Due to the way they reserve their camp sites, I have not included the site fee into the event price. The tent sites are $22-25 a night, cabins are about $50 a night, and RV sites are $33-37. When making your reservation you will be required to pay for the first night at that time. You will need to call and reserve your own campsite. The phone number is 1-435-259-6848. There are also rooms at the Big Horn Lodge blocked out for our group (the Big Horn is across the street from Canyonlands Campground). Call 435-259-6171.
Come early and stay late to take in all that Moab has to offer. Visit nearby Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. Moab is a closer than you may think at about 230 miles/3-4 hours from Salt Lake.

7:00 a.m. breakfast and event check-in.
8:30 a.m. Guides will pick for the Fisher Towers launch OR participants depart for the Westwater pick up point.
12:00 p.m. we will stop half-way for a river-side lunch with a freshly prepared deli style buffet (both launches)
4:30 p.m. Fisher Towers participants will be brought back to camp
5:30 p.m. Westwater participants heading back to camp
7:00 p.m. Dinner and “Think Pink” costume party and social at the campground pavilion
